"Zuckerman Unbound" is the second of nine "Nathan Zuckerman" novels and second of the 4-book "Zuckerman Bound" series, which Harold Bloom said "merits something reasonably close to the highest level of esthetic praise for tragicomedy". Published in 1981 by FSG, thistitle was less critically acclaimed than its predecessor, "The Ghost Writer".

Like "the Ghost Writer", there are two first editions for this book: this first trade edition and a true first edition published by the Franklin Library. This frist trade edition's dust jacket is not clipped and shows $10.95. The book is bound in green clothed board with gilt lettering, including an embossed "PR" at the lower right corner of the front board, and has red topstain . The copyright page should read "First printing, 1981".

This book is not particularly rare and a VG/NF copy can be purchased from eBay or Abebooks for less than $60. This is a VG+ copy with a NF dust jacket with some minor rubbing and a VG+ book whose only flaw is the remainder mark* at the top edge. FSG also produced a signed limited edition of 350 copies issued in slipcase, and the going price is around $150.

* That's one of the perils of buying books online: you are promised a perfectly good book only to be sent a remaindered one, and the cost and hassle of returning the book render it more economical to just keep it.
